Project Goal:
Teach Young Children How to Care for Animals
This
video clip is 80-seconds long and is 2.3MB. It requires QuickTime
video player. A new page should open containing a QuickTime progressive
download. If you don't have QuickTime installed on your computer you can
download the latest free player from www.apple.com/quicktime/.
With a DSL or cable connection the videos should start to play within a few
seconds. A Dial-up Modem may take a moment longer to start the video and audio.
We
produced this 17-minute School Training Video in conjunction with 14 Long Beach Girl
Scouts. The 9 to 13-year-old girls first sought and received donations from The
Archer Foundation and The Friends of Long Beach Animals.
They then did research, wrote scripts and auditioned to act in this video. As a result of their two-year efforts, the Long Beach Girl Scout Council established a
new "Pet Care Patch". We trained and assisted the girls with their script
and provided the animation, video
taping, sound track and editing (with their assistance.).
The
Long Beach Animal Shelter provides in-class training with an Animal
Control Officer who uses this video as part of their presentations. In addition
to watching this video, students volunteer their time to help take care of
shelter animals. (To view their "Thank
You" letter, CLICK

This
clip has been highly compressed for the web. Please call to view it in broadcast quality.
